Thank you for considering the impact you could make on the lives of the elderly at Emmanuel Old Age Home. We look after 160+ elderly and 50 highly frail aged vulnerable residents. Many of these elderly people cannot afford the very basic essentials for daily living and their needs often include expensive specifics like diapers and medication.

Donating to a a Registered Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) is a powerful way to contribute to positive change and address the diverse challenges faced by our elderly residents at the home.

“Wisdom belongs to the aged, and understanding to the old says Job12:12; reminding us of the value of speaking with older adults.” 1 Kings 12:6 tells us that Solomon once sought the expertise of older men who helped him make important decisions about the kingdom of Israel.  We have the wonderful privilege to not only speak to the elderly, but care for them, daily – BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!!

Beyond the personal satisfaction of helping the elderly, donating to NPOs in South Africa offers several benefits:

    1. Direct Impact: By supporting an NPO aligned with your values, you channel your resources directly towards a specific cause, ensuring your contribution makes a tangible difference. Whether it’s R10 or R100,000, your donation fuels our vital work.

    2. Empowering Communities: NPOs often operate at the grassroots level, empowering marginalized communities and fostering individual and collective growth. Your donation empowers them to continue crucial services, promote self-reliance, and break the cycle of loneliness, Social isolation, and social vulnerability; – These are very common in older adults and are associated with considerable morbidity and mortality, comparable to established risk factors such as frailty.

    3. Sustainable Solutions: Many NPOs focus on creating sustainable solutions, not just providing temporary relief. Your contribution helps us implement long-term initiatives that address the root causes of problems and build resilience within communities.

    4. Transparency and Accountability: Reputable NPOs uphold high standards of transparency and accountability. You can access information about their financial management, project successes, and impact reports to ensure your donation is used responsibly.

    5. Tax Benefits: Donating to registered Public Benefit Organisations (PBOs) in South Africa qualifies for tax deductions, making your generosity financially advantageous.
